Abortion centers around when a human becomes human.  Key to this area is what represents consciousness.  Unfortunately, we don't have a good theory of consciousness, and so we have to guess.  As I've argued, we should make it whenever a fetus develops a working brain.

It would be tempting to just completely ban abortion to avoid the risk of killing a human.  This idea is seriously challenged by the existence of one group of people.  These are poor, young girls who happened to make one mistake.  Unless there is a sudden rise so that demand for an adopted child surpasses demand, the child's life will be far worse then if s/he was born when the mother was a decade older.
